The Cottage

This unique cottage sits to one side of the main house and has its own driveway and car parking area.

There are various levels in the cottage with several steps leading from room to room, so this must be taken into consideration. However this does add to the charm of this lovely cottage that was once thought to be the Huntsman’s accommodation during the period Highercombe was the hunting lodge of Sir Thomas Ackland.

Bedroom 1 There are three large bedrooms in total. Upstairs, the principal bedroom has a queen size bed and own bathroom, the other has two single beds, again with its own bathroom. Downstairs there is the third bedroom with queen size bed and access to a separate shower room with wc and wash basin.
Bedroom 2 Bedroom 3

The cosy lounge is “upstairs” and has two comfortable double sofas and other casual chairs. The television is in this room along with the log fire and a plentiful supply of logs.

Washroom The kitchen/diner is located “downstairs” and is well appointed with free standing cooker, micro wave and fridge.

There is a separate washing room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Whilst the cottage will easily accommodate up to 6 adults, with this number the kitchen/diner may get a little tight and therefore the optimum would be 4 adults and 2 children.

A payphone is located in the entrance hall, along with various garden folding chairs/table for those garden teas. A charcoal BBQ is available upon request at no additional charge.
